I know that patchouli can be hit or miss for many people, either you love it or hate it; it works for you or it really doesn't. I have friend who's signature scent is patchouli and it smells like heaven on her.
Not me.
Out of the bottle this smelled like moldy dirt. But I tried it on my skin and it immediately turned to peppermint! I was so astonished that I had a friend smell it and she confirmed! I wasn't to mad at that, but sadly the scent later turned to a more burned citrus smell on me. So that was a NO for me this time.
But I love the fact that I can buy little samples to find just the right fragrances to suit my chemistry. It didn't work out for me this time, but I have already found several other fragrances that do work for me.

Ordered the Indian Patchouli and after applying it to my wrist, found the scent very weak to the point where you can barely smell it.
Contacted customer support and they offered to send me a sample of Singapore Patchouli, which the representative claimed is the strongest patchouli they have.

This Indian Patchouli if perfection! Musky, musty, powdery, volume without offending or overwhelming... Worn alone or blended this IS what patchouli is meant to be; Wondrous.

I have been wearing indian patchouli from the Fragrance Shop for the last 5-6 years. It is a pleasant aromatic fragrance that sets me apart from all the alcohol based colognes. I feel great pride in being stopped and recognized for my good scent. People at work, where hundreds of people get in the elevator every day, have said that they know when I get to the office because they can always smell my delightful scent. It's the ultimate "feel good" feeling!
