I've been wearing china rain for 36 years, well a few years after I started wearing it from The Body Shop (at that time, a small shop in SF, CA, they later sold their name and became BodyTime, with several shops throughout the SF Bay Area). Maybe 10 yrs later, China Rain became very popular, everyone seemed to be wearing it. I changed over to China Lily, CR's lighter cousin. I cannot get myself to wear any other scent. Unfortunately, BodyTime closed a few yrs ago. I have tried a few other places with subpar results. Although China Lily was not even close to BodyTime, Fragrance Shop's China Rain is the closest I've found to the 5 star original. It smells almost exactly like it. however, I don't think it lasts as long as the original. I used get told I smelled as if I had just put it on at about 7 pm at night after a long day of nursing in a busy county hospital in Oakland. I miss BodyTime so much, it took a while to get over that loss. I'm sure there are some ppl out there who understand. Thank you Fragrance Shop for the closest China Rain I've found so far.

Ever been to a Renaissance Festival? As a medium, this is exactly what I enjoy smelling like. It has a sweetness and mystery about it. It takes to the wind and people notice its beauty. I have gotten so many compliments. Thank you!

I put it on and cannot smell it. It is too light for me and I like more character to the oils I wear.

I do not intend for this review to be negative, just opinionated. I was referred to this scent by one of the sales associates as I do like floral scents. I ordered the sample & when I received it, tried it on, I had to wash it off. It was entirely to musky for me. It seemed like the musk overpowered the other notes. Just letting you know that if you do like musk, then you will probably love this scent, it just wasn't for me.

I adore this perfume, because it reminds me of being in college - very Bohemian! It has a very unique, sandalwood patchouli kind of vibe to it - but it's not overpowering or trying too hard. Whenever I wear it, people ask me what it is. This is a perfume for either summer or winter. Try it - it's really lovely!
