And SO much better than the current reformulation. This is a very distinctive, classic fragrance that has been delighting since it was first introduced in 1919. After many reformulations, the original has sadly departed from what it once was in the original and is but a shadow of its former self. The Fragrance Shop's interpretation of this complex, intriguing, and sophisticated scent is masterful and always satisfies. I have the oil, the Dry Oil, and the Body Spritz and love this scent in all of its variations.

Congratulations for your oil version of Mitsouko! It is for sure better than the current manufacturer's, with the original tension and sour peach effect that make this fragrance such a beautiful and haunting one.

Mitsouko is a unique fragrance, and of remarkable historical importance. A fruity chypre, Luca Turin calls it, rightfully, the reference chypre. It is not a scent suitable for everyone. To the fruity opening follows a slightly bitter mossy note (the chypre oakmoss) which persists in the background until the end. It gives the fragrance a depth and certain darkness, a seductive mystery. It is said that its name, Mitsouko (taken from the protagonist a French novel, La bataille) means mystery. It is a proper name. Mitsouko is one of the timeless masterpieces of the perfumery art. The Fragrance Shop version in the heart notes and particularly in the drydown is quite close to the original. Excellent.

I have not used the original but have read many reviews about the original vintage formula by Guerlain and the reformulation which is disappointing to many. I contacted the Fragrance Shop about which version they have, and got a lovely note back from Jenny that they have the original formulation. Due to that, I decided to try the Fragrance Shop's version and I absolutely love it. It has the peach, spice, rose and oakmoss notes and the complexity that Mitsouko is famous for. It is a beautiful and elegant fragrance, while being unique and full of depth. I have already received several compliments when wearing it, and have bought the perfume oil and the dry body oil, both of which I love.

Mitsouko has a unique fragrance, and "The Fragrance Shop" version has captured it. It is longlasting; and has the depth and complexity of the original. Thank you!
