While I never smelled the original Calandre, I'm thrilled that TFS's version smells like vintage Rive Gauche, my all-time favorite.
The dry-body oil has nice sillage, with a projection of about a foot or two, and lasts a couple hours on me. The perfume oil initially has monster sillage (like $$$ perfumes did back in the day) and nice longevity.
I'm hoarding some vintage Rive Gauche cologne and put a few drops on top of my Calandre dry-body oil. Lasts all evening. Heavenly!

I sent some friends of mine a couple of the sample packs and this is the fragrance that was most like the original. What they particularly like about this perfume is how long the fragrance lasts in comparison to the alcohol-based fragrances of most brand name perfumes. Although it is named Calandre type for women, many of my men friends find masculine enough for their tastes and love it too.

I bought the Calandre type bath gel and a perfume sample, they are very close to Calandre -which is discontinued now -so I was very happy to find them. I am pleased with my purchase.
