Plum Japonais type for women

I ordered a sample because I had read that it was very close to my favorite perfume, Shiseido's original Feminite du Bois. Alas, it's nothing like that. However! I was very pleasantly surprised in that I love this fragrance for what it is. The plum is sweet and rich, but in a sophisticated way -- not like a menagerie of fruits as with a teenager's body spray. Although cedar isn't listed in the notes. my brain is apparently telling me that it's in there. Not enough to make it comparable to FDB, but whatever the woody notes are, they do work beautifully. Spices seem to anchor everything together. For me, this will definitely be a fall and winter perfume. It's a bit warm, sweet, and heavy for summer. With luck, it will wear well on my skin. If so, I'll be orering a bottle.

Plum Japonais smells so lovely. It has depth and a lovely plum fragrance that is just right. I never thought I'd have a signature fragrance and this is the first that has ever made me think that I may have found one.

This was a blind buy since I never smelled the original before it was discontinued. However after trying the sample for a few weeks, I purchased the quarter ounce. No regrets.

I'm not a huge fan of Tom Ford, but I lovelovelove plum in fragrances, so I had to have Plum Japonais. It is indeed very close to the original. It's slightly less resinous, the plum note is on the sour side, and the drydown is woodier compared to the original. And for all that - I like it better. Fantastic!

Tom Ford announced it was discontinuing this lovely fragrance, so I nervously awaited my sample of TFS's version. Oh, yes! It arrived today and is just as good as the real juice if not better. A little bit softer, because it's oil based, not alcohol based, but that's what makes it better. So go ahead and discontinue it, Tom Ford! We're set for life with TFS.
