NY Sandalwood type for men and women

I reviewer said that this is a clone of Paloma Picasso. I wish it were, because PP is a great chypre. I love sandalwood with a passion. I am far from loving this mixture. Where is the creameness of true sandalwood? Perhaps in its iteration from Mysore to NYC sandalwood has been degraded into this somewhat acrid smell. The drydown is a much better approximation, but never delivers the enchantment of sandal. I have a problem with B9: there is only one fragrance from this house that truly delights me, and its TFS version is excellent: Chinatown.

I normally like high-sillage, long-lasting frags, but not this one. It took me a while to place it, and then it suddenly hit me. This was identical to the Paloma Picasso I had in '84. It was okay in '84, but tastes change, and I've outgrown it.
