    Not for me

I really didn't like this scent.
It seems very masculine to me. Right at the onset, there is a bold edge to the fragrance that I really didn't like, which didn't reflect any of the top notes of neroli, lemon or bitter orange. I imagine this is the "bourbon" quality in the fragrance, but it was so sharp and harsh to my nose and it didn't dim with time.
I wanted to like it. The first review convinced me to try it. Wish I hadn't.

    Bourbon Vanilla/Vanilia!

Straightforward name aside, TFS Bourbon Vanilla is very nearly identical to the discontinued and very popular L'Artisan Vanilia. The resemblance is immediately apparent in the rich, butterscotch-like vanilla note that forms the heart of this fragrance. As with the L'Artisan, Bourbon Vanilla is a sweet gourmand that doesn't smell foody or cake-like. It's rich and dense but not cloying; you'd think you'd found the parfum version of Vanilia with all the lasting power you'd desire. Supporting woods notes appear at the outset and then dry down quietly. I don't notice the citrus notes at the beginning. Overall, this is a vanilla musk that is so delightfully close to Vanilia that it is hard not to order it along with all of its ancillary body products. For those not familiar with the L'Artisan frag, this is a darker and rich vanilla (bourbon isn't a liquor note but vanilla cultivated from V. planifolia orchids from Madagascar and nearby islands in the Indian Ocean); it's a buttery vanilla with a light woods drydown. TFS Bourbon Vanilla is something all vanilla fans should try. Again, another highly recommended TFS scent!
