Ambrosia

This scent is not what I expected it to smell like, but it smells really good. Ambrosia has a clean, fruity scent but also smells like the inside of a candle shop. I would really recommend this scent. (:

Ambrosia was included as a sample in my recent order of (mostly) vanillas and fruity scents. Smelling it directly from the sample vial I thought it smelled very promising, as I got a whiff of fruitiness right away. But sadly, once liberally applied to the skin, it turns really soapy. I'm guessing it's the combo of the grapefruit, watermelon and cantaloupe with jasmine that smells a little too Ivory soap (with lots of bubbles). That in and of itself wouldn't be so bad, but I'm guessing it must be the extra kick of jasmine that is reminding me of the scent that is number 1 on my "can't stand" list and that's White Shoulders. WS makes me sneeze uncontrollably, so at least this one doesn't do that, but I had to douse myself in vanillas to mask the smell. It's okay now, but it's never touching my skin again. To each their own, of course, as someone else may actually love this.

I know that I am very particular when it comes to perfumes. I cannot stand the overpowering fragrances I smell on women, but I know that I am in the minority here since they are popular fragrances. I am one of those girls like that clean scents or fruity scents. Ambrosia was the free sample provided, and I'm glad they did. This was one of the samples I was going to select, but I opted for others. It is definitely unique, but I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of. All I know is that it smells overpowering to me (I put on 2 dabs) and it is making me feel nauseous. I feel as if this is better off as a room fragrance than a body perfume. I know that it's definitely just me, but I also wish The Fragrance Shop had a brick and mortar store so that I could try mixing fragrances. I don't think I'm very good at it. But I do think it's a unique scent, and it may smell better on someone else!

I was hesitant to try this, as I've been too-often gassed by people wearing fruit scented body splash, but I was very pleasantly amazed with what it actually is. For those who, like myself, enjoy layering compatible scents, this is AMAZING with Black Coconut, and I don't end up smelling or feeling like a fruit salad.

Sweet but not like too sweet attracted my crush :)
