I enjoy scents. And tobacco is one of my favorites. And vanilla... wow it's a natural aphrodisiac for me. But there's no way I'm going to spend the kind of money that Tom Ford charges, just for some smelly stuff.
So, when I discovered The Fragrance Shop, I picked up some samples. Outstanding work! The Tobacco Vanille type is warm and fragrant and inviting.
Quite frankly, I don't care what anyone else thinks of it, I wear this JUST for me. It is THAT good.

This fragrance is fantastic. Of all the scents I've tried recently, this one is far and away the best. It's unique and pleasant, strong without being overbearing. It's sweet without being feminine. Anybody looking for a sweet tobacco scent need look no further.
Your mileage may vary, but I find that it has great lasting power on my skin. The scent develops well throughout the night and I can still smell a trace of it the next morning.
I ordered a 1/4 oz bottle of this fragrance and I must also say that the presentation and packaging were excellent, and the bottle itself is attractive and applies the fragrance effectively (much better than the little sticks in the sample bottles).
Overall, this was an excellent purchase on all levels. Well worth the price, given how long it will last. I've never tried the original fragrance, but I like this so much that I don't think I need to.

I first received this scent as a sample and just fell in love with it. It is one of those fragrances that will linger all day long. It is strong on first application and then calms to such a spiciness that is awesome. One of the best Fragrance Shop scents ever and I have quite a few in my collection.

it's hard to select a star rating for this fragrance. the scent is amazing and delicious, but it does not last long on my skin.
i wore the tom ford tobacco vanille perfume for a while before purchasing the oil version from the fragrance shop, and i think the oil smells *way* better than the original.
the tobacco notes are deeper and richer. the oil version is more sensual, in my opinion. the oil is just as complex as the original perfume. it would be everything i want out of a fragrance, except for one significant problem: it has ZERO staying power on my skin. i have to reapply every hour or two if i want to smell it all day. this is very disappointing, and by reapplying so frequently, it no longer feels like an economical option. i do agree that alcohol-based perfumes are not always the answer, but in this case the original has far better staying power. something about it really anchors to my skin, and of course spray perfumes cling onto your clothing as well, which helps the fragrance project throughout the day.
ive worn oils in the past that have had decent sillage, but in my experience most oils tend to fade rather quickly.
