Samsara was one of my Nana's signature fragrances when I was a child so I am very familiar with it. There is a soapy quality to this upon application (very close to the smell of the original Neutrogena Rain Bath...the dark brown one).
The dry down definitely has the DNA of Samsara, but it doesn't hit the same way I remember it smelling. However, this may be the closest we'll ever get so 4 stars it is.

I wore Samsara years ago. I put some on my wrists and a little beneath my earlobe. That was at 6am it's now 4:30 and I can still smell it.

I have the Dry Body Oil, and couldn't be more pleased with it than I am. Come autumn I will buy the essential oil. It seems to me to be very true to the original, in all its marvelous splendor of flowers and woods.

I was looking forward to this sample the most, since I adore the original but am allergic to it. While this had some fleeting notes in the beginning that resembled Samsara a little bit, I am sad to say that this does not even come close to the original. An entirely different fragrance. I would give it one star for the non-resemblence, but give it 3 stars for the potency.
