Why I haven't thought to check for Jicky in the past, I'll never know, but I'm so happy with it. My older cousin introduced me to it when I was 11, and I couldn't believe how it made me feel. This version brings back romantic/sexy thoughts of Napoleon and Eugenie and what my future life might hold. Newer versions of Jicky are inadequate and now at the becomof 70, it will become a mainstay. Thanks Fragrance Shop! Good job.

It's not Jicky—more like Jicky's lovely cousin—but it is unbelievably sad and lovely and definitely worth the purchase. Powder, smoke, lavender all present, no civet note though. This is a haunting, delicate fragrance, evocative of those autumnal twilit days when all it does it rain. If you like Jicky you will love this

Although this does not smell anything like vintage Jicky, neither does the current reformulation that house of Guerlain is offering these days. This version from The Fragrance Shop is perfectly marvelous. I like it better than the Jicky I recently sampled at Bergdorf Goodman - very acidic, pale and bland, ending with a sour civet & lemon note. Blech!

I've been buying the Jicky Oil for a few years and receive lots of compliments on the fragrance. It's not heavy and sweet like so many fragrances today.

I must admit I wasn't fair to this oil version of Jicky on my previous review. Yes, it is true to Guerlain's original, but I can't throw my nose on my skin like I do with other fragrances, being oils or extraits. By getting to close to where Jicky type was applied, I can't discern any notes and only get a general "ancient Jicky feel". But once my body turns warmer and the fragrance arises, the true identity of Jicky shows itself within all of its glorious details. It only needs to be enjoyed from a safe two or three-inch distance. Thank you again, The Fragrance Shop!
