Just like jewels, pure fragrance oils vary tremendously in quality. We have put an enormous amount of effort into selecting the best possible quality pure fragrance oils of every type and the thousands of positive store and fragrance reviews are proof. We've been changing the way people think about fragrance since 1996 with many happy & beautiful smelling customers to prove it.

Day after day, customers tell us our versions smell better than the originals. Perhaps the lack of alcohol and, in many cases, higher quality oils than those found in the "original" makes the difference. Ounce for ounce, our perfume bottles contain fifteen to twenty times as much pure perfume oil as the typical Eau de Toilette, but choosing pure fragrance oils is not so much a question of saving money, as it is of getting your money's worth.

Usage:
A drop or two at most should be all you need. Unlike conventional perfumes, our oils are alcohol and filler free, so it may take a minute or two for the slowly warming scent to emit its full bouquet. The fragrance will be smoother and better balanced than any alcohol-driven aroma and well worth the wait.

Our fragrance oils last most people six to twenty-four hours, depending upon skin type, evaporating naturally during the course of the day. Our pure perfume oils also last longer in the bottle - commercial perfumes with fillers spoil, sometimes in as little as twelve months, but pure perfume oils retain their fragrance year after year. Amazing fragrance
I received this as a sample, so, of course I had to try it right away. I dabbed a little on the inside of my wrists that night and could still faintly smell it the next morning. It's not so strong that it enters a room before you do. But the lovely floral/powdery scent wafts as you walk by. It's light, floral, but definitely has the staying power I want. Excellent scent, will be purchasing this again and again.

Sweet Summer Rain by The Fragrance Shop
I received a sample of this and really like this floral fragrance. It is light yet it has depth, and it is not a linear fragrance. It is a beautiful floral that has several different flower notes in it and also a bit of a powdery note. It is fresh-smelling and lasts for many hours on my skin, but is not too heavy for the warmer months. It is made up of florals that are more seasonal for summer in the south than spring-like so I feel it is well-named as Sweet Summer Rain. I can smell the gardenia and lily and the carnation note is beautiful and smells true to the flower. If you are a carnation lover, please try this fragrance!

The mystery fragrance, finally revealed...
Well, there's a story that goes along with this fragrance…and what a story it is! Sometime around 1996, I sent away for a bunch of essential oils and fragrance oils from a company in California. Back then, the internet was so young that I might have seen an advertisement for this company in a magazine and ordered the items by mail, not online. They were an up-and-coming company run by essential oil enthusiasts, and I placed an order for a bunch of things, including essential oils and some floral single note fragrance oils, which I'm always willing to try. As a kind gift, they slipped in a glass vial of a very nice-smelling fragrance oil. Someone took a slip of paper, and with a pen wrote "Spring Rain," and then drew a picture of a flower and some raindrops falling from the sky. They taped it onto the vial and filled it with perfumed oil. That was it -- no formal label on the bottle or any other information. Whatever the scent was, it slowly grew on me over time. It has musk in it, which I really can't stand, but the musk was in the background and it seemed to mellow after an hour or two. I could smell this scent all day long, and it was so fresh and clean and spring-like. I think the thing that I liked most about it was that it was somehow a 50:50 mix of fresh clean florals and also fresh clean "green notes," maybe mossy could also describe it. I'm thinking of a huge field of dewy clover or spring wheat in the springtime, or something to that effect. Not only was it an interesting combination, but the green notes didn't seem masculine or aftershave-like at all, which is why I used it for years. The bottle I was given was about twice the size of the sample vials sold here, and you only needed a few drops, so it took me years to use it up. But finally, the level was going down, down, and I stopped using it because I was afraid it would be gone forever and I had no way to replace it. I finally got up the courage to start shopping around, somehow searching for a needle in a haystack, trying all sorts of "Rain" perfumes that I could find to see if a match could be made. I still wasn't sure if it was actually a China Rain, but it got whimsically labeled as "Spring Rain." So I tested China Rains, Spring Rains, and Rains. No luck, but I kept on trying. Totally by chance, I ended up at The Fragrance Shop website because someone highly recommended the gardenia single note as being very realistic. I was in the middle of a monoi project with coconut oil and planned to fragrance the oil with gardenia. Of course, I ordered a sample of that plus a whole bunch of samples, everything and anything with the name "Rain" in it. I was totally shocked and in awe when my nose realized that there was a PERFECT MATCH between the mystery vial that I had for so many years and this fragrance -- Sweet Summer Rain. Yep, after 18 years (!), I finally figured out what that awesome Rain fragrance is really called, that was given to me so many years ago on a lark…and I'm buying the HUGE bottle of it so that I never run out again. :-) [And P.S., the newly received Sweet Summer Rain smells exactly like the sample I received 18 years ago, with no change in scent whatsoever!]

pretty
i can smell the spice of the carnation in it. the scent is pretty but i like the nola rain better, i am glad i got the smaple pack to try it out but i dont think it will be one i purchase

Smell like a lovely summer day
I am a huge fan of stronger scents like Chanel 19 and Ferragamo but alas they are too strong for the late spring and summer. I think Sweet Summer Rain is gentle, light and clean smelling and the perfect anecdote to those stronger evening fragrances and perfect for those long hot summer days. It is sweet smelling so you don't need much - just a dab to achieve that alluring summer beachy fragrance
