L'Heure Bleue is a fragrance of bluish dusk, or anticipation of the night. A spicy-sweet opening gently gives way to heady floral heart. Soft and powdery notes rest on a sweet base of vanilla, tonka, and amber. Elegant and sophisticated, the 'bluish hour' is velvety soft and romantic.
Fragrance Notes unfold over time, with the immediate impression finally appearing as the final stage.

The Fragrance Shop did a great job of duplicating this, but the perfume itself is not one that I want to wear. I'm glad that I ordered only the sample size of it. If someone is a fan of L'heure Bleue, then I think that she would be pleased with this.

I didn't know you could drug yourself while smelling perfume!! Well, I certainly do with this Masterpiece brought to you by the F.C in all of its glory. I feel like I never knew perfume until I smelled this. I opened my sample, applied it to my wrist and it transported me to a place and time of pure happiness, bliss and peace like my childhood, yes my childhood.I kneel and bow to Mister Guerlain for giving humanity this treasure. I can only describe this as flowers and fairies wrapped in vanilla, tonka bean, and creamy Sandalwood while some sweet spices keep then going all night. Other fragrances that makes me feel like this are Sensuous, Stella McCartney, Joy and Very Vanilla.

I already had the oil of this beautiful fragrance and decided this time to purchase the Bath Gel and Body Lotion. I have long purchased the dry oil and the spritz for many of my The Fragrance Shop oils, but never this particular combination. I am very pleased! I am particularly happy with the Body Lotion both for the immediate gratification as well as well-moisturized skin the following day. Not always easy to find!

I ordered this perfume oil as one of my samples in the sampler pack because it contains a lot of the same ingredients as my favorite (discontinued, alas!) scent. I'd never smelled it before but I figured, why not try it?
So glad I did! What a lovely, complex scent this is! I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of Vanilla or Tonka (which smells a lot like Vanilla to me) but this scent is so well blended that these don't overpower as they do in some blends.
The Heliotrope, Neroli, and a whiff of Anise are what I smell when I first put it on - very exotic and evocative. As time goes on the subtle floral blend opens up, then blends beautifully with the base notes. It has a lot of staying power, too.
Enchanting blend! I definitely want more.

As beautifully crafted as this type of Guerlain's classic L'Heure Bleue is, it doesn't quite reach the level of the original, lacking some of the complexity of the base notes. But I happily wear it and enjoy the beauty of this composition.
