    The heliotrope that I received unfortunately smells like grape flavored hard candies. I realize that this particular essence cannot be extracted naturally from the plant and that we rely on synthetic reconstruction to duplicate it. I have smelled one heliotrope fragrance that almost did it and that would be from the Etro company. Also, the aroma chemical heliotropin does a rather nice job. Of course this all depends on where you get it. Of course all of this is just my opinion and I have been very satisfied with other fragrances from the Fragrance Shop.
